Yellow Belt Test

What a big day for the boys as they tested for their first belt. The Yellow Belt. They both had worked very hard and were ready for the test. There were 3 judges and they performed perfectly. Both boys did each task correctly the first time they were instructed to perform. It was a very proud moment for this Mommy because all I could think about was 4 yrs ago I had no idea if they would even be able to participate in sports. I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
Austin and Colby, we are so proud of you and look forward to your next test for your orange belt. Continue to work hard and one day you'll be testing for your black belt.
We love you!

Colby excels in Tae Kwon Do

Colby has been the most excited about starting Tae Kwon Do. He really puts forth a lot of effort each day and practices at home every day as well. He was so proud when he earned his stripes on his white belt but his focus has been on getting his yellow belt. Colby and Austin are the youngest in the class and the only 4 year olds taking Tae Kwon Do. They go 4 days a week for 30 minutes each. We go right after school and it's actually a great way to burn some of their energy.
Colby doing some of his blocks.
No one wants to mess with this tough guy
Awesome kicks
I love these pictures of Colby
Colby continues to work hard and I know with his determination he will do extremely well when he tests for his yellow belt.

Austin begins Tae Kwon Do

We have been discussing getting the boys involved with an activity that teaches discipline, respect and also an activity that requires them to focus and practice to become better. We decided on Tae Kwon Do. Austin is doing really well and we love that Master Son requires respect and discipline.
Austin has really excelled in his kicks
We are looking forward to Austin's first test for his yellow belt.

Snowman

I was so glad Pat was home this year for our annual snowman. Last year it ended up looking more like a girl so this year we hoped to make it a boy. Colby was torn on whether to put the snow on Daddy or the snowman
Daddy starts to create the master piece
And the final result
yeah even Mommy got in the picture. We just kept our fingers crossed that the deer would not eat everything off the snowman like last year. Deer love Oreos!
The boys were very proud of their snowman.

Snowball fight!!!

We cannot let a winter go by this year without a good ole snowball fight. The boys found their snowball makers, yes you read that right. We have snowball makers that make the perfect snowball. And the boys got to work making as many as they could to prepare to take Daddy on.
Austin is ready for war....Colby is still debating if they need more.
"Take that Daddy"
Oh no, we are out of snowballs and Daddy is really getting us now.

Colby, got it good! Daddy dumped a whole bowl on Colby and he just loved it and laughed
The face of a trooper!
" Daddy better watch out because I am going to get him now"
"This is going to be a really good one"
'Watch out Mommy, I will get you too"

Valentine's

It was time for the school Valentine's party and of course the boys needed something to put all of their Valentine's and treats in. It's not like when we were kids and it was simple paper Valentine. Oh no, now it's pencils, candy, fruit snacks or stickers that have to accompany the lil cards and you don't want your kid to be the one who doesn't bring something. Pat always reminds me to make whatever we are doing....boyish! So instead of the typical valentine box with hearts all of them we made dinosaur sacks. Nothing says I love you like a green dinosaur sack. Really the boys were so proud.

The sacks came home full and the boys were happy....Mission accomplished.

Hair Cuts

Two new pillow pets, four pairs of scissors= two boys in trouble! We caught Colby and Austin giving haircuts to their new pillow pets last night. When we asked them why they did they, they responded "because we wanted them to be handsome people like us"
Pat sent them to their rooms so we could laugh without them seeing us. We were just happy they did not cut each other's own hair.
I went upstairs and heard them discussing the haircut.
Colby: We are in trouble
Austin: yes and you went first which you should have not done
Colby: I know
Austin: We should not have gotten the scissors
Colby: I know
Austin: Even the barbers don't cut pillow pets
Colby: I know
Austin: We just wanted them to be happy
Colby: I know
Austin: I wonder if we will get them back
Colby: I don't' know but we better clean our room because Daddy is coming and we don't want a spanking.
Nothing we can do but laugh at this one. We can't be there at all times and I am just thankful it was not my couch or their own hair. I love my boys and the silent laughs they give me at times.
