This summer we have been crazy busy with work, travel and fun. After returning from Fort Lee, VA we just repacked our suitcases and headed to Texas for the 4th of July weekend to see family and friends. I was so excited that John and Carla were willing to drive two hours to meet us for lunch. We had not seen them in almost 3 years and it was like old times. You know you are good friends when you can just pick up where you left off.
We would love one day to live closer together. They are an awesome family and very special to us.

The last time John and Carla saw they boys they were getting ready to turn 2. They could not believe how big they were. They know to well what a blessing each boy is because they rode that NBICU roller coaster ride with us.

Honoring our Soldiers
Pat's old stomping ground....what a honor
There is just nothing like the Honor of The Old Guard. Pat was a proud member of the Old Guard in his enlisted days in the Army. While in VA we took a trip to his old stomping grounds to show the boys where Daddy started his awesome career as a Soldier.

Pat was on the drill team and took part in all the major ceremonies for the President of the U.S.
Austin giving his best salute from the reviewing stand where all the VIPs stand as the troops pass by.

out on the big parade field where a lot of ceremonies take place
On our way through Arlington National Cemetery
Daddy explaining what a hero Audie Murphy was

Austin paying his respect to all the fallen.
All through out Arlington, Austin would stop and salute

Changing of the Guard and wreath laying
We enjoyed this trip to show the boys that all the people buried there sacrificed something for them. We want them to grow to respect and appreciate the sacrifices our military members have made and continue to make.
I am also very proud to come from a military family and to have married one of the best Soldiers I know.
