First Day of Kindergarten

As I write this post, I just cannot believe my lil guys are not so lil anymore. Where has 5 years gone? Seriously I remember crying over their isolettes wondering if they would be able to go to school one day. I remember the first day of Montessori School and crying in the parking lot being so proud of them and the big first step of letting go. Now as Pat and I dropped them off at their first day of Kindergarten at Layton Christian Academy I shed more tears of happiness and thankfulness. I praise God that my lil guys have done as well as they have after such a rough start in life. They were nervous about their first day and meeting all new teachers and friends.
Colby and Austin are in different classes and even though they do a lot of activities together Pat and I felt it was very important for them to start becoming independent of each other. So far it has been the best decision.

Colby has Mrs. Strope who is new to LCA but not to teaching. This was right when he got to class and to his assigned seat.

Austin has Mr. Panter who has been at LCA for quite a few years and has a hat for everything and every theme you can think of.

Daddy walking them in.....

Mommy knowing I have to let them go....so proud of you Colby and Austin

All dressed and ready to go.

I was so happy to see them smiling and happy.

They each picked out their own backpacks and got matching ones. Wonder if they are just use to it. They have to wear uniforms to school so there is no real choice when it comes to clothes.

Mommy looks forward to wonderful year of firsts for both her boys.

I love you guys.

All smiles....great vacation

As our vacation came to an end we took one more boat ride out to the dam and of course toasted a great week. Everyone knew if you saw me smiling with my green glass....life was good. Chelsey, Katy and me....
Not sure what Sean was doing but regardless he was smiling

Cheers!

One last photo and we headed back to the boat and back to NSL. What a great week with great friends that are like family to us.

Til Next Summer........

All about Sean

Sean excellent at wake boarding therefore absolutely loved being on a lake for an entire week. One of the neat things at Lake Powell is a new wake boarding course. The boys would ride out on a jet ski and be dropped off at one end and the ski rope was attached to a pulley that then pulled them across and they could just learn how to perfect their wake boarding or could do jumps. Sean loved it. It could be set at different speeds depending on size of the person or ability level. Here are some snapshots of Sean.

Sean's first couple of runs were just to get the speed adjusted and to get use to the pulley system. Then during his 3rd run we had no idea and neither did the jet ski driver that he was going to attempt a jump. Needless to say it did not go well and he face planted the jump because it was bone dry. Before a person jumps the jet ski goes and sprays the jump several times to get it wet for the jumper. Sean soon learned to communicate with the driver.

Sean had an awesome experience definitely is looking forward to going back.

The long hike..

In the middle of Lake Powell is a sand hill, mountain or whatever you want to call it. Our boys all climbed up to the top and would run all the way down into the water. I think Sean did it 3 or 4 times which is unheard of, which has to be a record. Usually once is enough for most. Here are some pics of my guys. Austin decided to take a little break on the way up. They even did it in their life jackets.Colby managed part of a piggy back ride from Sean on one trip up.Our boat is at the bottom of the sand hill. I was so proud of him.And here he goes, running all the way down.Austin finally made it too. I was so proud he did not give up.Sean loved it. He came down so fast it was crazy. Just some more fun we had and a chance for our boys to challenge themselves.

What to do at Lake Powell.....

This is one trip our whole family looked forward to all summer. Some people ask, so what do you do at Lake Powell for a week....well the O'Learys have fun! We headed out to Lake Powell with our friend the Montrones and another family for a wonderful, relaxing week on the houseboat. It's so nice because there is something for everyone. The weather was perfect and we could not have had a better time.

Sean is quite good at wake boarding therefore he is always trying something new. He got the turning a 360 circle down and Colby and Austin thought he was so cool.
Sean also continued to practice on his slalom ski and is doing very well. He started feeling more comfortable cutting back and forth across the wake.Of course mom still had to show him how to really do it. Knee brace and all. This the top of the houseboat where Sean and Trevor would jump from.
My lil guys had fun on the slide.
Austin wasn't real sure about it the first time as you can see by his facial expression but once he did it once he was non stop.
Sean always trying something different.
Just some pictures of Sean skiing. Now Pat with his new expensive knee brace got out to show he still has it. He did very well and all the boys loved watching him.
And now for the big moment. Colby skiing. We could not get Austin to try and after working with Colby we were all tired so it was probably best.
Mom giving the pep talk about how well he was going to do and all he has to do is stand up.
All smiles before skiing....not a lot of smiles afterwards though.
Most days in one of the coves you would find Pat throwing the football with Trevor and Sean
Austin loved just floating around exploring
The boys were so good in the boat and loved taking turns being Daddy's co-captain. So many wonder what we do, well hopefully that gives you a brief idea of how much fun we have. Stay tuned for our next update on the rest of our fun.
